Frequently asked questions

Horem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.

How long do results last?

It depends on the specific disease and severity, other comorbidities or diseases that also participate in the outcomes. In general, most effects last between 6-12 months, up to several years, or sometimes the condition gets healed, like for tendinous and muscular injuries.

How do you know if they worked?

The results of any medical intervention require a follow-up and continous channels of communication between the patient and the doctor. This follow up plan aims to recognize and treat potential adverse events, and of course to monitor the outcomes combining sujective and objective meassurement tools like validated questionnaires and scales, and specific labwork or medical imaging depending on the treatment received.

Have you published any results?

Every medical intervention and clinical protocol at our center has been designed and implemented based on published scientific evidence available in the medical literature, supported by experienced medical staff and highly trained laboratory staff, and a professional consulting scientific board. Regarding our own results, we have already IRB-accepted research protocols and we are collecting our data and waiting to obtain enough information for retrospective analysis and possibly publish our results. We recently established a Clinical Research Group that will dedicate themselves to all these projects.

Do I need more treatments and how often?

Protocols for longevity require continuous interventions on lifestyle changes, supplements , medications, and programmed treatments with cellular therapies, autologous or heterologous. Cosmetics, musculoskeletal, erectile dysfunction treatments are often repeated for maintenance & improved results, but depending on each individual case (sometimes every 3-6 months for cosmetics, 6 months to years for musculoskeletal, 6 months for ED).

By what regulator is the process governed?

The licenses to operate Regenesis Labs (And all cellular-related processes), and RMI Clinic (medical facilities and processes for patients) were issued and are permanently supervised by the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. At this time, our organization is the only clinic in Costa Rica to have this strict, highly supervised licensing.

What is the method of administration?

Intravenously or locally (targeted with ultrasound for musculoskeletal and ED treatments, or in the skin for cosmetics)

What dose of stem cells will I receive in total?

Depending on the specific treatment. For IV infusions for regenerative, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and longevity purposes, an average of 100 Million MSC's are intravenously infused. For musculoskeletal or other local applications like skin for cosmetics or in the penis for erectile dysfunction, the dose is lower and calculated according to the volume and areas to treat. All treatments are individualized depending on the patient's physical characteristics, labs, medical conditions and needs.

Where do the donor cells come from?

MSCs (Mesenchymal Cells) are obtained from umbilical cords after C-section in private Hospitals in San Jose, Costa Rica. The selection of the donors includes a less than 35 years-old mother and lack of significant past or present medical history. Cords are voluntarily donated in advance and immediately collected and processed at our REGENESIS Labs. Wharton’s gel from these cords is the source of young mature mesenchymal stem cells. Regenesis Labs isolate, culture and expand these cells over different passages until the product is ready for clinical application.

Are RMI treatments covered by Insurance?

RMI treatments are not covered by insurance. Our services fall outside traditional insurance models and are considered elective, preventive, or regenerative therapies. Patients choose RMI for proactive care that at the time goes beyond standard coverage.

What health assessments are involved in my evaluation or protocol?

Assessments depend on the treatment being considered. These may include blood work for medical clearance, imaging such as focused ultrasound for orthopedic treatments, and a detailed medical history review. Our evaluations are designed to ensure safety and appropriateness, not to diagnose disease or create a full medical risk profile.

Is RMI relevant for both men and women?

Absolutely. RMI protocols are designed for both men and women and are adapted to sex-specific physiology, goals, and health priorities, whether related to performance, aging, recovery, or overall well-being.

What’s the right age for treatments offered by RMI? Am I too young or too old?

There is no single “right age.” Some treatments are ideal for younger patients focused on prevention and long-term health, while others are designed for individuals addressing pain, injury, or age-related decline. Eligibility depends more on health status, goals, and safety considerations than on age alone. Each patient is evaluated individually.

Who leads the RMI medical team?

RMI’s medical team is led by our experienced Medical Director, Dr. JosĂ© Rojas, with the help of physicians with backgrounds in regenerative medicine, orthopedics, and preventive care. Physicians are directly involved in patient evaluations, treatment delivery, and follow-up, ensuring continuity of care and clear medical accountability at every step.

What makes the RMI experience unique compared to similar?

The RMI experience combines medical rigor, transparency, and hands-on physician involvement throughout the entire journey. Patients value not just the treatments, but the level of explanation, follow-up, and professionalism. We prioritize safety, realistic expectations, and long-term relationships rather than one-time interventions.

How is RMI different from a regular doctor or a traditional medicine?

RMI is not designed to replace your primary care doctor. We focus on longevity, prevention, and optimization; working before disease develops or becomes limiting. Unlike traditional or concierge medicine, which often centers on managing symptoms or diagnoses, RMI offers proactive, regenerative, and performance-oriented solutions supported by physician oversight, advanced therapies, and personalized follow-up.
